These insurance terms apply to ChaniaCar reservations at Chania Airport Parking Area. For reservation support, contact info@chaniacar.com or +30 698 196 8649.

Included Insurance Coverage

The agreed insurance can apply only when the renter follows the accident and reporting procedure required by ChaniaCar.

  • Collision Damage Waiver (CDW), Full Damage Waiver (FDW) and Theft Protection (TP) may apply according to the rental agreement.
  • Theft Protection is included in the booking cost, subject to the required police report, rental agreement and vehicle keys being returned to the rental location.
  • Roadside assistance is provided by a third party.

Accident Procedure

In case of an accident, the customer must call the police and ChaniaCar immediately and provide all information so that the agreed insurance can be applied.

  • For any accident, collision, deflection, scratch or other damage, the renter must provide the police report.
  • The renter must also complete and sign ChaniaCar's accident report when returning the car.
  • If the required reports are not provided, the customer may be charged the total amount of the damage cost.

Insurance Exclusions

Charges for the following damages or losses are charged directly to the client and are not covered by insurance:

  • Damages caused by lack of care, traffic violations, illegal parking, negligence or reckless driving.
  • Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  • Willful damage, off-road driving, driving without care and attention, and traffic violations.
  • Interior damage, upholstery, instruments and stains or tar inside the car.
  • Locks, keys, antenna, wheel rims, mirrors, lights, crystals, mechanical parts under the car, wheels and roof damage.
  • Loss or damage to keys, registration plates, vehicle documents, spare key or car jack.
  • Fuel errors, damage to child seats or baby seats, and lack of electricity from forgotten electrical devices.
  • Towing costs, telephone costs, taxi costs and hotel costs.
  • Flat tyre replacement and damages to music devices such as radio, CD or MP3 player.

Theft Protection

  • In case of theft or fire, the renter must contact the police immediately and submit the police report, rental agreement and vehicle keys to the rental location.
  • Responsibility is non-waiverable in case of theft or damage due to a theft attempt where excess applies.
  • Theft protection does not apply beyond the rental date agreed with the pickup location.
